WELCOME TO WINNSBORO, SC

WELCOME AGAIN

WE'RE UNDER CONSTRUCTION RIGHT NOW, SO PLEASE FORGIVE OUR APPEARANCE...Some things need changing around, but you'll get an idea of the beauty and vastness of FAIRFIELD COUNTY'S resources anyway.

Beyond the lakes, the quarries, the shopping centers are places replete with history, legends and lore about the Olde South. If you travel with us a while you'll learn some of the basics, but also see some of the backroads we've captured when something looked interesting.

You've gotta go some to spend any sweeter time than canoeing on crystal clear Monticello Lake (actually it's a Reservoir) where the water right about now is pretty high and bass are plentiful. Designed for Seniors to be able to fish here, there's a handicap dock, isn't that thoughtful though. Many a fun day's been spent on Lake Wateree (State Park) or Monticello. Make sure you bring your rod & reel. We Seniors get Free Fishing (and hunting)Licenses for a lifetime here. Hooo Hooo! Give you any ideas?

Living here in FAIRFIELD COUNTY is still so AFFORDABLE and someone recently told me that he expected to pay almost NO real estate taxes this year.

Heading out for a day, week, weekend....check out the campsites in The Wateree State Park. You'll find 72 full accommodations (electric/water) hookups, picnic tables, rest rooms with hot showers, a public boat ramp, convenience/tackle shop right there in the Park. Call ahead for reservations.

Lake Wateree is a 328 acre park located east of Ridgeway, South Carolina.

the one of the Olde English fence in Rion, SC outside of a now defunct school.

That "Petulant" lower lip bespeaks this young man's later disposition. Any idea who he is???
